Capturing usable data can quickly be done using the technique of Snapshot Scanning. I coined this term several years ago to dem

onstrate how to utilize the scanner as a replacement for a total station by mapping most everything you need to analyze from a single scan position. Consider this example, measuring a damage profile from one location with a total station. The time to gather the points will vary; still, it is never fast, and the data points would be limited to the user's selection. The scanner will capture the entire damaged area in 1 minute and 30 seconds with no data missed.
